Principles and policies

Housing

It is now widely accepted that new homes should be built to be accessible for all people, including young or old, single or in families, non-disabled or disabled. When designing new homes, it may be necessary to take account of three sets of requirements. These are;

The Code of Practice encourages developers to design and provide accessible housing and recommends the adoption of Lifetime Homes standards for new build and refurbishment.
