6.6 Lobbies and corridors

Lobbies

Lobbies should be avoided unless there is a definite requirement.

An entrance lobby and any internal lobby should allow space for:

Floor mats should be fixed down, close-fitting with no gaps (if in a well), flush with the floor and have a firm surface which does not become slippery in wet conditions. Close rubber or short-fibre mats are preferred. Soft core, chain or metal link mats should be avoided.
