The area for shower controls is shown to be between 1200mm and 900mm from floor level. A vertical grab rail is shown nearer the shower curtain located with the top at 1400mm and the bottom 900mm from floor level. An horizontal support rail is shown at 700mm from floor level. A tip-up seat is shown at 475mm from floor level.

Plan

Diagram sowing the plan view of a shower cubicle. In front of the cubicle an unobstructed approach is indicated with dotted lines. Approaching the shower cubicle from the front the unobstructed area in front of the cubicle is shown as a rectangle the width of the cubicle, 1000mm by 1200mm long. Another unobstructed area is indicated in front of the cubicle and to one side. This rectangle measures 900mm long and 1400mm wide (1000mm width of cubicle plus 400mm). Inside the cubicle, measuring 1000mm wide by 900mm deep, a variable height shower is shown on the back wall and curtain across the front. On one side wall is a tip-up seat that takes up about one third of the width of the cubicle when in the lower position. On the opposite side wall are the fixed vertical and horizontal grab rails. A slope on floor goes to the drain.
